Connecting your first integration

This guide describes the provider-neutral part of connecting a sales channel. Individual integrations can require additional provider-specific steps.

Make sure you know:

  • which Organization should own the connection,
  • which Seller the external account belongs to,
  • which marketplace, store, or sales account you are connecting,
  • which Comers user is authorized to configure the integration.

If your Organization manages multiple brands or multiple accounts on the same platform, verify the context before authorizing access.

Select the supported provider you want to connect.

Each provider exposes its own set of data and actions. The integration makes them available in Comers without forcing other modules to adopt provider-specific terminology.

Follow the authorization or credential flow presented by Comers for that integration.

Treat all credentials and authorization material as sensitive. Enter them only through the designated Comers integration flow. Do not put secrets into documentation, support messages, screenshots, or general notes.

3. Confirm the account and business context

Section titled “3. Confirm the account and business context”

After authorization, verify that Comers identified the expected external account and that the connection is associated with the correct Seller and sales-channel context.

This check is especially important before importing a large catalog or order history.

4. Run or wait for the initial synchronization

Section titled “4. Run or wait for the initial synchronization”

The first synchronization establishes the initial Comers view of the supported data available from the connected provider.

Initial synchronization and ongoing synchronization are separate concerns. A connection can be valid while some data is still being retrieved or refreshed.

Before relying on the integration operationally, review a representative sample of the synchronized data.

Depending on the provider, check relevant examples such as:

  • source/channel identity,
  • external identifiers,
  • Orders,
  • Listings,
  • Product relationships,
  • customer conversations,
  • shipment or fulfillment information.

Only check categories that the connected integration actually supports.

Temporary provider or network problems can delay synchronization without changing the business meaning of data already normalized in Comers.

If a provider-specific instruction is not yet available in these public docs, use the connection flow shown in Comers and avoid inventing credential values, scopes, or technical endpoints from third-party examples.
